Implants
Dental implants from Comfort Dental offer a permanent solution to tooth loss while providing a smile that looks and feels comfortable. They are stronger, more durable and more comfortable than dentures. They are also stronger and more durable than partials, and even bridges. They never get a cavity and do not fracture or wear down.
Dental implants are fused to the jawbone and serve as a bases for artificial individual replacement teeth or bridges. Implants offer stability and function that match the actions and strength of natural teeth.

Dental implants are among the most successful procedures Comfort Dental performs. Candidates for dental implants need to have healthy gums and adequate bone to support the implant. Comfort Dental fully assesses your dental health before recommending dental implants.
Factors that can render implants susceptible to higher failure rates include:
- Smoking
- Diabetes
- Osteoporosis
- Ferquent Sinus Problems
- Improperly treated TMJ issues (clenching, bruxing, headaches, migraines)
- Calcium and Vitamin D deficiencies
- Additional Health issues
- Poor dental hygiene
To achieve optimal success with dental implants, Comfort Dental performs a thorough evaluation. All Comfort Dental implant evaluations include:
- A review of your health status
- Consulting with your physician regarding any contra-indications or precautions
- Panorex(jaw) X-Rays
- Transcranial X-Rays (for advanced recontructive cases) to determine the best possible position for the implants based on your muscle and jaw function
- EMG studies (for advanced recontructive cases) to determine the best possible position for the implants based on your muscle and jaw function
- Preliminary study models used in conjunction with EMG studies and bite analysis
- CT Scans for advanced cases
- Full diagnostic lab wax up and surgical stents to be used for placement
CARING FOR YOUR IMPLANTS
Although dental implants are not susceptible to the formation of cavities, poor oral hygiene can still lead to the development of periodontitis (gum disease) around the implant. In other words, you still must brush and floss your implants just like your natural teeth!

Proper placement of implants and crowns is dictated by the dentist who will finish restoring the crowns and bite. Full architectural blue prints are necessary before any surgery is done. |

The Comfort Dental Difference
Tom came to our office for a weekend emergency visit regarding bleeding gums and pain. To make a long story short, soon after relieving his pain and infection we diagnosed many dental problems in his mouth. Most of these problems were simply a result of the poor dental care that he had received from his dentist, who was also his friend. He had learned to accept less than the standard of dental care for many years.
Tom decided that it was in his best interest to seek continued care at our office and receive the best that modern technology has to offer.
Implant Reconstruction and Empress Crowns
We started his dental care with a comprehensive gum treatment program. We were able to save as many teeth as possible. Unfortunately, his lower front teeth had suffered extensive bone damage due to thegum infection and he required placement of 2 mini-implants manufactured by 3i Corporation. These implants helped to stabilize his jaw bone and allowed us to fabricate all-porcelain crowns in order to restore his dental health and give him the smile that he always wanted. His dental interest peaked to the point that he also wanted 4 Empress veneers placed on his upper 4 front teeth to give him the new smile he always dreamed about.
Tom had a hard time going through his security gate at work as the guard did not recognize him on Monday morning. He actually had to show his I.D. badge!
